What Grid Translator Pro Does?

Grid Translator Pro (GTP) for MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ is a MapInfo Professional® add-on enabling MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ users to handle a wide range of raster and imaging formats within MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ .

GTP core functionality is raster data translation. GTP does:

• Import more than 70 raster formats to MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ grid format.
• Export MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ grids to standard raster formats.

To work properly, GTP for MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ requires MapInfo Professional® (6.5 or higher).

Why Do I Need GTP?

GTP for MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ opens all the functionalities of MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ to more than 70 raster formats including the formats of the major GIS and Imaging industry products: ArcGIS, PCI, Erdas, Idrisi and Surfer.

GTP for MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ is built with Vertical Mapper users in mind to allow them leverage their investment on MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ product and take advantage of the increasingly available data.

Whether you have a raster dataset produced by ArcInfo, Idrisi, PCI, Erdas, Geosoft or ENVI, a satellite image (SPOT, Radar, NOAA, NITF), a nautical chart (BSB), a bitmap image (GIF, Bitmap, Jpeg, PixMap), or a DEM (SRTM, SDTS, USGS DEM, GTOPO30, DTED); GTP for MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ will bring these data to Vertical Mapper native format with few clicks.

In addition of importing raster datasets, GTP for MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ can export MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ grids into 3 different standard GIS formats enabling MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ grids to be used by external applications.

Supported Formats:

Using an original design GTP for MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ import and/or export Vertical Mapper grids using an automated and generic process. The conversion process is batch oriented allowing users to create and/or export Vertical Mapper grids from/to a wide range of data formats using a single and unified user interface.

What's new in GTP 2.5 ?

• Added support for 9 new formats that can be imported into MapInfo® Vertical Mapper™ grids:

- ESRI ASCII Classified
- Geospatial PDF

- NADCON .los Datum Grid Shift

• Added support of exporting datasets to 'old' Planet format (clutter and height files).

• Added support of importing compressed files directly (.zip, .gzip). :

• Integrated a new licensing model that does not requires users to request a trial license. A trial license is shipped with the product.

• Added the ability of choose the type of output grid (classified or numeric) in batch import.

• Fixed an issue with imported datasets using non earth projection. Imported grids were not fully recognized by Vertical Mapper info tool.
